Overview

About Abacus

An arithmetic path puzzle against a sand clock: tap neighbouring digits whose sum hits the target, and the longer the path, the more time you get back.

A 5×5 grid of digits and a target above it. Tap a tile, then a neighbour, then a neighbour of that; when the path's sum hits the target the tiles clear, the sand clock gains time for every tile used, and new digits fall in. Pass the target and the path busts. Every ten clears is a shelf with a bead to pick that bends the rules. The run ends when the sand runs out.

Gameplay

How it plays

  1. Tap a tile, then keep tapping neighbours. The running sum shows under the target.
  2. Hit the target exactly to clear the path and win back sand for every tile.
  3. Pass the target and the path busts: nothing gained, a pinch of sand lost.
  4. Every ten clears is a shelf: the clock refills a little and you pick a bead.
  5. The sand drains faster as you go. When it is gone, the run ends.

Depth

What makes runs different

  • A quick pair that keeps the clock alive, or a long path that pays?
  • Beads open diagonals, slow the sand, add wild tiles or twin targets.
  • Every target is reachable on the board in front of you.

FAQ

Common questions

Can a target be impossible?

No. Every target is drawn from a path that exists on the board in front of you.

What is a bust?

A path whose sum passes the target. It clears with nothing gained and costs a pinch of sand.

What ends a run?

The sand running out. Every clear gives sand back, more for longer paths; every shelf refills a little.

Where is my progress stored?

Progress, records, unlocks, the saved run and the sound/haptics settings are stored on the device only (UserDefaults and the app's own Application Support folder). Deleting the app deletes them. x3r0soft never receives them. See the Privacy Policy for details.

How do I reset?

Settings → Reset progress clears records, unlocks and any saved run; sound and haptics settings are kept.
